Torna Tigers is owned by Amanora Park Town. Amanora Park Town is a flagship township of City Corporation Limited, emerging as modern suburb of Pune with its state of art social and eco-friendly and digital infrastructure. Mr. Aniruddha Deshpande, Managing Director of City Corporation Limited is an avid lover of the game and sees this as an excellent platform for the local players to showcase their skills and talent. Amanora have spent an enormous amount in acquiring a more than capable and an extremely balanced young squad. Tigers have gone out and spend Rs. 3 lakhs for Kedar Jadhav, who became the most costly player for the MPL 2010 season as well. Kedar also shined in the IPL 2010 edition when he scored a half century on debut for Delhi Daredevils against the Royal Challengers Banglore, making his mark on the International stage. Apart from that, most of the squad is unchanged from the campaign last year. Tigers go into the MPL 2011 with five batsman including one of the “bargains” of last year’s MPL tournament: Ajinkya Joshi, six all-rounders including Ranjit Chavan, two wicket-keeper batsmen in Viral Shah and Amit Kadam and two bowlers including the super impressive left-arm spinner and skipper Kiran Adhav. Kiran was adjudged the “Best Bowler” of the MPL 09 edition. Tigers, semifinalists in 2009, would be keen to put behind the ghosts of the MPL-2010 behind them, get back to winning ways in the MPL-III.
