The Sinhagad Supremos is the only franchise based out of Pune city limits. Jain Irrigation Systems supports and sponsors sports like swimming, badminton, chess, rifle shooting and cycling, apart from the MPL franchise, the Sinhagad Supremos, that it now owns. Headed by Bhavarla Jain, the founder chairman, Jain Irrigation is a name to reckon with, not only in Jalgaon where it is based, but across the country. The company is engaged in the manufacture of whole gamut of products not only related to irrigation technology but in other sectors too. A truly multinational company, JISL with its Investee Companies has 23 manufacturing bases spread over 5 continents. The franchisee purchase can be seen as a logical next step to the Jain Sports Academy that was founded in 2000 to tap talent in rural areas. The 'Knights in Shining Armour' became the Champions of the MPL 2010 season by playing to their best possible capabilities. The win was a step ahead after they lost out in the semifinals in 2009. The team comprises four batsmen, including the likes of Vishal Bhilare and the newly acquired attacking batsman, Amey Shrikhande; five bowlers including left-arm pacer Jitendra Patil, who won the “Best Bowler” award during the MPL 2010. They have an astonishing eight all-rounders, which includes Azhar Ansari, who led the team to the title in the MPL 10 and Ganesh Gaikwad, who sparkled with both the bat & ball and earned the coveted “Man of the Series” award in the MPL 2010. They have three wicketkeeper-batsmen including the impressive Vishant More. Supremos have an uphill task this season, playing with the tag of the defending Champions and will put in their best efforts to retain the supremacy.
