Hanumant Pujari is a strongly built, tall guy. Just one look at him, and one would know he can clear any ground in the city. And thatfs what this 22-year-old all-rounder did, quite often in his debut MPL season in 2009. Be it his 32-ball 57 against a brilliant bowling attack of Pratapgad Warriors, or a 12-ball 32 against Shivneri Lions, Pujari kept smashing the ball to the boundary rope, and often, over it by god 15-20 metres. His 140 runs off eight innings came at an strike rate of 160.92. He was used as a bowler only on four occasions, and claimed four wickets. Pujarifs heroics in the MPL-I earned him a place in the Maharashtra T20 team. He wasnft in the scheme of things a season later though, getting just two innings in three games, and failing to get into double digits on both occasions.
