Bought by Pratapgad Warriors for a modest fee of Rs. 25,000, Swapnil Gagule was one of the bargains of MPL 2009. Only 18, Gugale batted wonderfully well scoring 247 runs in the eight games that he played with two half centuries up his sleeve, thereby becoming the most successful batsman for the Warriors. He averaged 35.29 and had a strike rate of almost 96 per 100 balls. Only 18, this promising opener represents Maharastra in the four day format and was also a part of the West Zone under-19 camp. He has represented the state at under-15, under-17, under-19, under-22 levels in the past.
