This right-arm pacer was once looked at as the next big thing in Maharashtra cricket, before serious injuries pulled him back. Having had a superb first season in first-class cricket in 2007, Wahid survived a career threatening knee injury, and is now keen to have a ‘second inning’. Having been bought by Panthers for Rs 15,000, Wahid bowled some very economical spells in MPL-II, although he wasn’t always amongst wickets. A season with an economy rate of exactly six is a very good start for a fast bowler who bowls with the field restrictions on. What Wahid would like now, is a few more wickets in MPL-III.
